About

I'm Khai, your tutor.

A passion-driven tutor and Yale-NUS College graduate with a First Class Honours in Literature, I am most at home inducting students into the study of the humanities, especially literature.

My continually refined expertise in the humanities is supported by 7 years of teaching experience, a formal teaching stint in a top IP school, and a commitment to incisive coaching.

I am personally invested in demystifying a field that has often stumped students and seemingly defied systematic and reliable methods of learning. Take it from someone who has grown from being a student terrified of unseen poetry to a confident close reader – it is eminently possible to understand and excel in the humanities!

I am committed to exploring with you the particular approaches and strategies that work for you, so you can be empowered to confidently engage with the humanities.

Ad-Hoc Consultation

Get assistance without the commitment

For students who fare decently but are looking to elevate their literary skills. Lessons are customisable; we can work on set text understanding, or essay structuring, or any other part of the literary process.

Also catered to students seeking more specialised help (e.g. for H3 Literature in English, research projects, etc.).

Crash Course

3-4 lessons teaching specific skillsets and content packages

For students who need to cover content comprehensively within a short span of time. Students tend to opt for this option during the holidays or nearing exams.

For example, students can opt for an Unseen Poetry Crash Course where we will do a deep dive into skills required to decode any poem, or a Crash Course for a specific set text.
